- This article formed the basis of Cross's lecture during a Stanford Historical Society tour of Yosemite in May 1981. It relates the history of David Starr Jordan's interest in Yosemite, his friendship with David A. Curry, the history of Camp Curry, and the roles of Donald B. Tresidder (Stanford Univ. President 1943-48) and his wife Mary Curry Tresidder at Yosemite.
