- Abstract
- This thesis aims to outline the theoretic and artistic research undertaken to produce a series of works exploring the distinct expressive opportunities and ethical considerations inherent to music and machine learning. I will reference speculations on the origins of song, and conceptions of an expanded definition of intelligence. I will also describe challenges to notions of collective and individual authorship, and ownership, posed by artificial intelligence.
