Communicating With Your Car: A simpler, more calming, and engaging interface
Abstract/Contents
- Abstract
- The “Secretary” navigation system creates a personal relationship between the user (driver) and the car through integrating the user’s phone and the automobile. This idea is implemented in software on the car (navigation system) and phone (phone applications). The phone application would include features such as saved destinations, schedules, and interest updates. This information will be pushed to the car's navigation system to be used and applied to the environment of the car. How does it work? Phone application (so it would be limited to smart phone users) would have a menu bar options such as destinations, schedules, interest updates. The user can input new destinations or save destinations. The schedule option would allow the user to save reminders, timing and location of appointments. Interest update option presents the user with an option to use the information from the phone such as what frequently used application, weather updates, or through integrating the phone and the car, the device constructs a context relevant view on a underlying database-phone.
